Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing is generally considered one of Shakespeare’s best comedies, because it combines elements of robust hilarity with more serious meditations on honour, shame, and court politics.
It was probably written in 1598 and 1599, as Shakespeare was approaching the middle of his career.

The play is set in modern Mediterranean Messina, revolving around two romantic pairings – the lovesick Hero and Claudio and the quarrelsome Benedick and Beatrice at the Governor Leonato’s palace. Will Don Pedro convince Benedick and Beatrice their harsh words hide romantic feelings? Will Don John ruin the upcoming wedding with his vicious slander? And will Constable Dogberry get his justice after being labelled an ass?
