Smith Street

Smith Street, this eclectic place in one of Melbourne’s many hearts is at the centre of this new play. 50 characters from the 1850s to today meet and mingle, ghosts, animals and anything human. The piece is surreal, realistic, dream-like and political, often at the same time. It is immersive in some way and allows the audience to move around if they are so inclined. It features 15 actors and 4 musicians. It is presented by BYTE (BackYardTheatreEnsemble), an independent company dedicated to original work.
