Set in rural Victoria in 2006, small-town Gilgerie has seen the shire offices move away and the main stay Gilgerie Fertiliser Factory has closed for economic reasons. The Gilgerie Football Club has not won a premiership for 18 years and prominent local businessman Wally Carter looks to entice legendary footballer ‘Shark’ Bateman as playing coach in the hope that a premiership will boost the town’s moral. The chase for the premiership goes down to the wire as insiders and outsiders clash in this tale of love, hate, infidelity, gossip, jealousy, ego, loyalty, hope and dreams.
