Ladies in Black

An alluring and tender-hearted comedy drama set in Sydney in the 1950s. A musical which tells the story of bookish school-leaver Lisa who joins the sales staff in a prestigious department store. Over a summer that changes her life, she befriends the colourful staff members of the women’s clothing department, including her new mentor, the exotic Magda, mysterious mistress of Model Gowns. Each of the characters are on the precipice of change – facing independence, working for a living and what it means to be a woman. The original music by superstar Tim Finn will have you singing long after you leave the theatre.
